THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

The objectives of this research are to: (1) analyze the effects of digital transformation on operational efficiency, (2) identify key technologies that drive efficiency improvements, and (3) evaluate the cost-benefit of digital transformation initiatives. A survey design was chosen for its ability to provide quantitative data on operational metrics. The sample size, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula, included 375 respondents from manufacturing firms in Ogun, ensuring relevance to operational processes. The manufacturing sector was chosen due to its extensive operational needs. The survey instrument achieved a reliability coefficient score of 0.86. Findings show that digital transformation significantly improves operational efficiency through automation, data analytics, and process optimization. Recommendations include investing in advanced digital tools, continuous monitoring of efficiency metrics, and fostering a culture of innovation to maximize operational benefits.
